SENECA FALLS, N.Y. – Seneca Falls Police are warning the public about a phone scam where the caller claims to be from Microsoft.

Police said the caller tells the victim their home computer contains a virus and gives them instructions that gives the caller remote access to their computer. Police said this enables the caller to steal personal information and install malicious software.

Anyone who receives a similar call is advised to contact their local police agency. – VIA TWC NEWS
