SENECA FALLS, N.Y. – Seneca Falls Police are warning the public about a phone scam where the caller claims to be from Microsoft.
Police said the caller tells the victim their home computer contains a virus and gives them instructions that gives the caller remote access to their computer. Police said this enables the caller to steal personal information and install malicious software.
